10 | David Jamieson (1732-1793) was born in St. Anne's Parish, Essex County, Virginia, probably in 1732. He was the son of James and Margaret (Jennings) Jameson, tobacco plantation owners. He was the grandson of David and Mary Jameson, from Scotland, likely a prisoner of war, deported from England in the latter 1600s. David married Mildred Smith, daughter of Edmund and Agnes (Sclatter) Smith, about 1751, in Virginia. They had no known children. | |||

28 | James Jameson (1739-1760) was born September 4, 1739, the son of John and Christian (Hay) Jameson, in South Leith, the port area of Edinburgh, Scotland. He was the fourth son and fifth child of twelve known children. His father was a Wine Merchant in Leith. James was a Surgeon and a soldier of the 88th Regiment who as a volunteer, during the Seven Year War, died in the Battle of Campen, in Germany on Oct. 26, 1760. He is buried there, at Kloster Kamp, Kamp-Lintfort, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. | |||

His paternal grandfather was Reverend Joseph Bland Jameson, curator at the chancellery in Bury, Heywood. The family was also involved in the booming cotton industry in the mid nineteenth century.
