His arms are depicted on his very much worn grave stone as, four ships with sails, quartered and a crest apparently of a fish. the inscription and the motto are almost undecipherable, although the name and dates are more readable

David Jamieson (1732-1793)
was born in St. Anne's Parish, Essex County, Virginia, probably in 1732. He was the son of James and Margaret (Jennings) Jameson, tobacco plantation owners. He was the grandson of David and Mary Jameson, from Scotland, likely a prisoner of war, deported from England in the latter 1600s. David married Mildred Smith, daughter of Edmund and Agnes (Sclatter) Smith, about 1751, in Virginia. They had no known children.

was born about 1587 in Aberdeen Scotland the third child, second son, of Andro and Marjorie (Anderson) Jamesone, a prominent architect and stone mason on Aberdeen. His paternal grandfather was William Jamesone, also of Aberdeen. George married Isabella Torche in 1624 and they had nine children, only five of which reached maturity. George was a prominent and accomplished portrait painter, often referred to as the Scottish VanDyck.

James Jameson (1739-1760)
was born September 4, 1739, the son of John and Christian (Hay) Jameson, in South Leith, the port area of Edinburgh, Scotland. He was the fourth son and fifth child of twelve known children. His father was a Wine Merchant in Leith. James was a Surgeon and a soldier of the 88th Regiment who as a volunteer, during the Seven Year War, died in the Battle of Campen, in Germany on Oct. 26, 1760. He is buried there, at Kloster Kamp, Kamp-Lintfort, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

was born October 9, 1864 in Bury, Heywood, Lancashire, England, the ninth child and youngest son of Joseph Bland and Rebecca (Dearden) Jameson, of Heywood Hall, Lancashire and Armathwaite, Cumberland. His paternal grandfather was Reverend Joseph Bland Jameson, curator at the chancellery in Bury, Heywood. The family was also involved in the booming cotton industry in the mid nineteenth century. John Bland Jameson was educated at the Rossall school as a young man and later at Edinburgh University, in Scotland.

John married Isabell Ann Jones in January of 1845. She was the daughter of Harry David and Charlotte (Hornsby) Jones, of England.
